Altenmarkt is growing village and is the gateway to the Zauchensee ski slopes. It’s got a great mix of the old and traditional Austrian village (village squares, beautifully fronted buildings, and onion domed church) with good shopping (a good selection of supermarkets and boutiques) and plenty of restaurants and bars for a lunchtime or evening meal. The village is only 10kms away; hence you can walk or cycle, or take a quick 5 minute drive from Flachau.
