Check out Zell am See

Zell am See is just a 1 hour drive to west of Flachau. As well as being one of Austria’s famous ski resorts, the combination of lake and mountain attracts even more tourists in the summer months. It’s a busy and bustling summer lake side town, but it’s worth the effort! The town is set between the mountains of the Schmittenhohe and Lake Zeller, and the view will continue to appear on postcards, paintings and advertisements all over the world. The town has retained much of its history, including the St Hippolyte’s Church which pre-dates the Gothic 15th century; hence there’s plenty of quaint streets and squares to explore in the old town. The lake itself offers plenty of activity with boat hire and excursions, canoeing and of course swimming (it is officially one of Europe’s cleanest lakes).
